Herma McIntyre 1941-2012

On a personal note, my mother passed at 10 pm Eastern on Monday night in Ottawa. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2011 and had gone though numerous treatments until her passing.

Consequently I will be taking a short break from this blog. Thank you for your understanding.

Thought You’d Like To Know

You may have noticed the sporadic posts in 2011. Well, that’s because I’ve been taking care of my mother, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier that year.

The chemotherapy, surgery and radiation were successful but other issues have popped up this month so I may again be posting sporadically until these are resolved.

Thanks again for your understanding.

Rob.

Argh !

It’s been a busy month so I haven’t been able to get everything done.

I’ll be adding more asap.

Adobe Fights Back

Adobe appears to be fighting back against Apple according to Times Online.

They have bought ad space in print and on the web claiming that Apple is trying to limit the consumer’s choices in the manner they create and experience content.

Meanwhile Google and Verizon have decided to create their own tablet computer, to rival the iPad. I guess I might consider that instead.

International Record Store Day

I’ve expanded my vinyl source listings in honor of International Record Store Day. But unfortunately I had accidentally put the wrong date in so I’ve had to edit this blog entry.

Well, better late than never, eh ? 🙂

WaTunes

A new music download service is now available on Facebook.

Watunes features recordings from Warner Music Group, EMI and Universal. BUT Canadians cannot purchase recordings via this service yet.

I will keep an eye on the situation.
