Various Events This Weekend

Multiple events of interest to music collectors will occur this weekend in Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia:

Although Winnipeg Comicon is not a record convention, I thought i’d mention this event because it features memorabilia and collectibles form music, film and television.

This event lasts from October 27th to October 29th 2023 at the RBC Convention Center in downtown Winnipeg and ticket prices vary. The nearest bus stops are one block south at the corner of Broadway and Cariton Street (#10592/#10587). Additional information on transit in the area is available from Winnipeg Transit.

A vinyl pop-up will be hosted by the Clifford Brewing Company in Hamilton, Ontario from 6pm to 10:30 pm on Saturday, October 28th, 2023.

Admission is free and the nearest bus stops are #1215 and #1258, which are located a 9 minute walk south at the corner of Barton St. E and Nash. Please contact the City of Hamilton Transit Authority for additional information.

Music, television and film collectibles will also be available at the Belleville Comicon at the Royal Canadian Legion in Belleville, Ontario from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $5 (free for kids under 12) and the Belleville Bus Terminal is located a free feet away, across the street from the Memorial Market Place, which is next to the venue. Consult the City of Belleville website for additional information.

The London Record Show will be at the lower level of Centennial Hall this Sunday, the 29th of October 2023, from 11am to 4pm.

Admission will be $5 and this venue is located behind London City Hall, which is services by bus stop numbers 535 and 1936. Consult London Transit for details.

The Record Show at the Vancouver Flea Market will also occur this Sunday, from 10am to 3pm.

Admission is $5 and the venue is an 11 minute walk East from the Main Street-Science World station. There are also bus stops near the Flea Market, #51354 and #51276. Consult Translink for details.

There are multiple record conventions and vinyl pop-ups today through to Sunday:

The Grain & Grit Brewery will be hosting a vinyl pop up in Hamilton, Ontario today from 6pm to 9pm and admission will be free.

The nearest bus stops are 1352 (at the corner of Main and Ewan) and 2603 (at the corner of Main and West Park). Please consult Hamilton HSR for transit details.

Another free admission vinyl pop up will be held in the nearby city of Cambridge, Ontario on Friday the 20th, at the Old Galt Bottle Shop, also from 6pm to 9pm.

The nearest bus stops to that venue are 2189, which is right next to the venue at the corner of George and Hobson, and 2608, which is located on George at Park Hill. For additional information on transit to the area please contact Grand River Transit.

The Toronto Downtown Record Show will be at the Holy Name Parish Church at 71 Gough Ave in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday, the 21st of October 2023, from 11am to 4pm.

Admission to this event will be $7 (or $30 for early admission at 9am) and the venue is a two minute walk west from the Pape subway station. Consult TTC.ca for additional information on transit, including bus service at the nearby corner of Danforth Ave and Pape Ave.

The Fall Moncton Record Expo will be held at the Coverdale Center in Riverdale, New Brunswick from 10am to 5pm this Saturday as well.

Admission will be $5 and the nearest most convenient bus stop is R0544, a six minute walk away from the venue at 500 Hillsborough. Consult Codiac Transit for details.

The Calgary Music Collectors Show will be held at the Acadia Recreational Complex in Calgary, Alberta from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, the 22nd of October 2023.

Admission will be $5 (or $10 for early entry at 9:30am) and the nearest bus stops are 6414 and 6447, which are near to the complex. Consult Calgary Transit for details.

The Bowmansville Record and CD Show will be held on Sunday, the 22nd of October 2023, at the Memorial Park Clubhouse at 120 Liberty St S from 10am to 4pm.

Admission will be free and the nearest bus stop is 1499 at the corner of Prince and Liberty South, which is an 8 minute walk away. Consult Durham Regional Transit for additional information.

The Sarnia Record Show will also occur this Sunday but from 10am to 3pm at the Royal Canadian Legion at 286 Front St N. in Sarnia, Ontario.

A $2 donation to the legion will be admission to this event, whose venue is a five minute walk from the Bayview terminal. Consult Sarnia Transit for additional information of Sunday service to the area.

The Guelph Record Swap & Sale will be at the Unifor Local 1917 Hall at 611 Silvercreek Pkwy N in Guelph, Ontario from 10am to 4pm.

Admission will be free but $2 donations to the Guelph Food Bank are recommended. And the nearest bus stops are 2031 (Curtis at Silvercreek), 266 (Woodlawn at Silvercreek westbound) and 229 (Woodlawn at Silvercreek eastbound). Consult Guelph Transit for additional details.

And finally, another vinyl pop up will be held at Silverview Brewing in Virgil, Ontario, also on Sunday but from 11:30am to 6pm. And admission will be free.

Record Shows This Weekend & More

There will be three record shows this weekend, one in Halifax, Nova Scotia and another in Newmarket, Ontario and the last in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Halifax Record Fair will be held at the Halifax Forum Maritime Hall at 2901 Windsor St. on Saturday, the 14th of October 2023 from 10am to 4pm.

Admission with be $5 and parking will be free. And the nearest bus stops, 8572 and 8564, are located in front of the complex. Consult Halifax Transit for details.

The Newmarket Vinyl Record & Collectibles Show will be at the Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, Oct 15th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm.

Admission will be $5 and the venue is located at 707 Strigley St, which is serviced by multiple bus stops so you can find the nearest, more convenient stop by using the trip planner on the York Regional Transit site.

The Fall edition of the Edmonton Record Fair will be hosted at the Central Lions Recreation Center at 11113 113 St. on Sunday, the 15th of October 2023 from 11am to 3.30pm.

Admission is $5 (or $10 for early admission at 9:30am). And the nearest bus stops are 1122 and 1488, on 111 avenue. Consult Edmonton Transit for details.

Record Shows & More

October is getting to be pretty busy when it comes to record conventions and fairs. And there will be two events in Western Ontario this weekend.

The first will be the Hamilton Record Show on Saturday, the 7th of October 2023, which will be hosted at Bridgeworks, a venue located at 200 Catherine St. North.

Admission will be $5 and the show will be from 10am to 3pm. And the nearest bus stops are the the corner of Cannon and Hess, which is south of the venue, and Bay and Barton, which is east of the venue. Consult the City of Hamilton Transit site for additional details.

Vinyl records and music memorabilia will also be available on Sunday, the 8th of October 2023 at the London Collectibles Expo at Centennial Hall, which is located at 550 Wellington Street.

This event will occur from 9:30am to 2:30pm and admission will be $5 (or free for children under 12 when accompanied by an adult). And the nearest bus stops (532,535 and 1936) are located next to London City Hall, which is a three minute walk away from the venue. Consult London Transit for further information.

Upcoming Record Show & More

There will be a record show at The Back Alley Bar & Grill in St. Thomas, Ontario on Sunday, October 1st, from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be a donation to a local charity and the nearest bus stops are on Talbot street. Consult St.Thomas Transit for further details.

There will also be a massive Geeked Out Event at the Nepean Sportsplex in Ottawa, Canada on Saturday the 30th and October the 1st, which will feature toys and collectibles, some of which are from film, television and music.

Admission to the Ottawa Toy & Convention Sale is $5, with kids 12 and under getting in for free. And the venue is located next to the Transitway, bus stop numbers 1652 and 1683. Consult OC Transpo for details.

This Weekend’s Events

There will be three record conventions this weekend, one of which will be in the city of Montreal and the remainder will occur in Toronto and the nearby community of Bowmanvillle.

The Foire Aux Vinyles Sur Le Plateau will be hosted at the Saint-Denis Catholic Church next to the Laurier Metro Station in Montreal from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, the 23rd of September 2023.

Admission will be $5 (or $15 for early entry at 9am). And as previously stipulated, it is on the doorstep of a Metro Station.

The Toronto-Mississauga Vinyl Record & Collectibles Show will be on the next day, on Sunday the 24th of September 2023, at the Etobicoke Olympium (590 Rathburn Rd, Etobicoke) from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $5 and the nearest bus stops,#1477 and #1493, face the venue. Consult the TTC for further details on public transit in the area.

The Bowmanville Record and CD Show will also be occurring that Sunday but from 10am to 4pm at the Memorial Park Clubhouse at 120 Liberty South in Bowmanville.
