Ontario/Quebec Covid Update & More
Capacity limits will be removed today on establishments that require vaccine passports in Ontario, like cinemas and conventions. But it appears a 50% limit will be imposed on concert venues and theatres according to the official press release from the Government of Ontario.
Proof of vaccination requirements will be lifted on March 1st but social distancing, masks and hand sanitizing will remain for some time, as it will in Quebec, where capacity limits have been lifted for cinemas.
Smaller venues in Quebec with less than 10,000 seats will be allowed to fully open but restaurants, bars and taverns will be limited to 50% capacity until March 14th.

Black Friday @ Record Stores
Multiple chain and independent record stores through-out Canada are holding Black Friday specials and providing discounts on merchandise that had been released on Record Store Day, so you should probably consider taking a look at what is being offered at these local stores.
I’m going to be browsing some today here in Ottawa, mostly to look for the Special Record Store Day version of Platinum Blonde’s Standing In The Dark LP and other goodies I had passed on previously. And the usual measures are still in place so i’m going to pack a mask and some hand sanitizer, which I recommend you do as well.
By the way, the Black Friday offers are now up at 123ink.ca, Amazon.ca, Alibris (coupons ), Microsoft Canada, Prime Cables, PureVPN
, Rakuten Kobo
, Sennheiser Canada, Sharper Image, and Wondershare Technology. And you might want to check out deals at Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.fr, some of the retailers I use for imports.

Record Store Day Update
Several Record Store Day events will occur at participating retailers, starting at the end of this month.
On August 29th, 2020, this first of three series of limited-edition recordings will be made available, followed by a second series on September 26th and third series on October 24th.
These releases were spread out to limit the crowds at these participating retailers, in response to COVID-19. And masks and social distancing will be required to enter these establishments.
For your information, disposable face masks are available from Amazon.ca, Living.ca and your local Giant Tiger, Rexall Pharmacy, Canadian Tire and Shoppers Drug Mart stores.
Record Store Day Postponed
Record Store Day has been postponed to June 20th, 2020. And multiple tour dates have changed, including some by Celine Dion and Thom Yorke of Radiohead:
Due to restrictions put in place to minimise the spread of COVID-19, we regret that the North American leg of the Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes tour is postponed.
— Thom Yorke (@thomyorke) March 13, 2020
Ticket holders, please standby for information on a new routing for later this year. Apologies for the inconvenience.
You should probably keep an eye on your favourite artists for changes to their upcoming tour schedules.
UPDATE: Schools, Museums, Libraries and City Facilities in Ottawa will be closed from March 14th to April 5th. Please consult your local municipality’s schedules.
