{"id":2913,"date":"2013-02-01T04:30:14","date_gmt":"2013-02-01T09:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.musicbymailcanada.com\/blog\/?p=2913"},"modified":"2013-02-01T04:30:14","modified_gmt":"2013-02-01T09:30:14","slug":"retail-news-future-shopbest-buyhmv-u-k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicbymailcanada.com\/blog\/?p=2913","title":{"rendered":"Retail News &#8211; Future Shop\/Best Buy\/HMV U.K"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eight Future Shop and seven Best Buy stores are set to close though-out Canada as the company restructures their retail operations.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futureshop.ca\/en-CA\/press\/best-buy-canada-announces-real-estate-optimization-plan-in-first-phase-of-transformational-strategy\/pc8202.aspx?path=90c4633323af64ed62cd40323dec0e28en08\">January 31st, 2013 press release<\/a> smaller retail operations will replace these stores :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Best Buy stores in Queensborough, Nanaimo, Victoria, Langford (Westshore Town Centre), and South Surrey, British Columbia; and Lachenaie, and Sherbrooke (SmartCentres Sherbrooke), Quebec. <\/p>\n<p>Future Shop stores in West Kelowna, British Columbia; Montreal (Forum Entertainment Center), Laval (First Pro Ste-Dorothee), Quebec; Regent, Manitoba; Macleod, Calgary; as well as Ancaster, Barrie South and Erin Mills, Ontario.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Best Buy Mobile locations will expand whilst smaller Future Shop &#8220;web stores&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>On the other side of the pond, HMV U.K is also restructuring and is not currently taking online orders via their site.<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen stores have been closed in Ireland and half of the 223 U.K stores are expected to close shortly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eight Future Shop and seven Best Buy stores are set to close though-out Canada as the company restructures their retail operations.
