{"id":4973,"date":"2018-02-11T00:34:57","date_gmt":"2018-02-11T05:34:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.musicbymailcanada.com\/blog\/?p=4973"},"modified":"2018-02-11T00:34:57","modified_gmt":"2018-02-11T05:34:57","slug":"why-is-vinyl-so-expensive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicbymailcanada.com\/blog\/?p=4973","title":{"rendered":"Why is Vinyl So Expensive?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just ran into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/entertainment\/music\/2018\/02\/09\/why-is-the-price-of-vinyl-albums-at-a-record-high.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Star article<\/a> that I pretty much agree with.<\/p>\n<p>Although I love the depth of analog, I now purchase the rare long play records to <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2CbbjMU\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mount them<\/a> on my walls as art and\/or to find tracks that have not yet been released digitally online. And I would never think of replacing my CD collection with vinyl now because they&#8217;re way too expensive.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I can find popular and new releases (or new re-releases) for around $26 <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2H5TTF1\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">online<\/a>. But many are well over $40 and some DVD-audio or Blu-Ray audio titles are cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>I may indulge with a few of my very favourite albums and might buy LPs that include downloads but i&#8217;m happy with my collection for the moment. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just ran into a Toronto Star article that I pretty much agree with.
