{"id":5412,"date":"2019-06-27T16:16:01","date_gmt":"2019-06-27T20:16:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.musicbymailcanada.com\/blog\/?p=5412"},"modified":"2019-06-27T16:16:01","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T20:16:01","slug":"ticketmaster-settles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicbymailcanada.com\/blog\/?p=5412","title":{"rendered":"Ticketmaster Settles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ticketmaster L.L.C., TNow Entertainment Group, Inc. and Ticketmaster Canada LP has agreed to pay $4.5 million dollars to settle the Competition Bureau&#8217;s case against them for misleading prices, according to a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"news release (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/competition-bureau\/news\/2019\/06\/ticketmaster-to-pay-45-million-to-settle-misleading-pricing-case.html\" target=\"_blank\">news release<\/a> that was issued today by the bureau:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>&#8220;As part of a consent agreement registered with the Competition Tribunal, the companies will also establish a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.competitionbureau.gc.ca\/eic\/site\/cb-bc.nsf\/eng\/04297.html\">compliance program<\/a>\u00a0to ensure their advertising complies with the law and will implement new procedures to prevent advertising issues in the future.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bureau had concluded that Canadian consumers were paying 20% to 60% more than the advertised price due to fees, which were mandatory.
