This Weekend’s Events
This weekend there will be a free record show in Toronto and two comicons in Ontario, one of which will also be in the Greater Toronto Area:
The Toronto Flipside DJ and Collectors’ Vintage Record Sale will be held at the Sporting Clube Portugues De Toronto on Saturday, August 9th 2025 and this is a free event.
The nearest TTC bus stops are #1007 and #1019, which are served by Route 29 from Jane Station. But the venue is also a 15 minute walk north from the Dundas West station, a line 2 metro station where streetcar routes 504 and 505 terminate. And the value is also an 18 minute walk north from the Bloor Go and UP Station.

The first comicon, Vaughan Con, will occur for two days at the Bellvue Manor, on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th of August 2025.

Click here for ticket information. And this venue is serviced by bus routes 020 and 320 on York Regional Transit at bus stop numbers 3818 and 6346 from the Smartcentres Place Bus Terminal, which is located next to the Vaughan Metropolitan Center TTC Station.

The second comicon, the Orangeville Comicon, will be held at the Orangeville Curling Club on Sunday, the 10th of August 2025 and admission will be $5 at the door.
Free transit is provided by Orangeville Transit and the Walmart next to the venue is serviced by the Green route, which connects to GO Bus Route 37 from the Brampton Bus Terminal at bus stop number 100258.

Atlantic Entertainment Expo
The Atlantic Entertainment Expo, a record, comic, board game and collector’s convention in one, will be held on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th of July, 2025 at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre.

Comicons & Deals
There are two comicon events scheduled for this weekend on Ontario, the Transformers themed, weekend long TFCon in Mississauga and the Bruce County Comicon in Southampton:
TFCon Toronto will be held at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale from the 11th to 13th of July, 2025.
Click here for ticket information. And the venue is serviced by multiple bus routes on both Miway and Go Transit, some from near the Meadowlands Go Station on Argentina Road (which is an 8 minute walk from the station).

The Bruce County Comicon will be hosted by the Southampton Coliseum on Saturday, the 12th of July, 2024 from 11am to 5pm and admission will be $5 cash ($6.67 if purchased online) or free for kids 12 and under.
The venue is a 10 minute walk away from the Flixbus bus stop, Route 2711. Access to this venue may also be provided to this venue from Saugeen Mobility, an on demand transit service that served the country.

Please note that cash may be preferred at these venues. And as you may heard, Amazon Canada has extended their Prime Days this year to four days, from the 8th to the 11th.
You might want to try a Prime membership out for various bonuses. But you might also want to shop around for tech items, several retailers like Best Buy Canada and Newegg Canada having their own multiple day sales events.
Walmart Canada‘s comparable sale event will be ending today. And note that several of the aforementioned retailers offer rebates via Rakuten Canada, so you might want to try them out as well.

This Weekend’s Events
The weekend long Montreal Comicon will be held from July 4th to July 6th, 2025 at the Palais De Congres.

The second annual West Shore Vinyl Plus Record Fair will be hosted by the Langford Legion from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, the 6th of July, 2025 and admission will be $2.
The venue is a five minute walk away from the Langford Exchange, which is also on Station Road, and multiple BC Transit bus routes operate out of this station.

The Bring Out Your Dead! Vinyl Sale & Swap will also be held this Sunday, from 3pm to 6pm, at the Black Dog Freehouse and I believe this is a free event.
This 82nd street venue is serviced by multiple routes on Edmonton Transit, some from the Health Sciences Jubilee Station (Routes 004 & 726), and it is also a 7 minute walk from the Whyte Ave Terminal of the High Level Bridge Streetcar.

Very Few Events But…
There are no record conventions and only one comicon like event in Vancouver, MiniComi, but if you’re in the National Capital and planning to attend the Canada Day celebrations you should note that the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau is hosting an exhibition celebrating Canadian pop and rock.
Retro – Popular Music in Canada from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s will be on display until Jan 18th, 2026 every day from 9am to 5pm and with extended hours to 7pm on Thursdays and Canada Day itself.
Admission information can be found by clicking here and admission is free to kids aged 17 and younger but a ticket be claimed in their name via the link provided. And note that holders of the Canada Strong Pass that are aged 18 to 24 are entitled to a 50% discount on admission via this form as well.
It also appears that admission is free on Thursday nights from 6 to 7pm and on Canada Day from 9am to 7pm according to the ticket purchasing site. And when it comes to transit, Route 8 services the venue at bus stop number 1940, operating from Pimisi Station in Ottawa on OC Transpo and multiple bus routes on STO also service the museum in the city of Gatineau itself, via bus stop numbers 2612 and 2618.
