Peter Oakley 1927-2014
I have just learned that a member of the Youtube community has passed away and thought I’d post something about him here.
Known as geriatric1927 on Youtube, “The Internet Granddad” had entertained people from all corners of the earth with his nostalgia and humour, this whilst introducing this new communication medium to his generation since 2006.
Having gained notoriety through his 400+ videos, he had worked on several well known projects, including The Zimmers, a cover band featuring elderly vocalists that charted in the United Kingdom. And I thought that his cover of "Old & Wise" would be the best tribute to him here :

Cineplex To Play More Films In French
Television Radio Canada has reported that Cineplex will be playing more films in French in their theaters, starting with the newly acquired theaters in the Maritimes.
I’m bilingual so I enjoy the odd French film. But I’ve had to travel to Gatineau, Quebec to view them in a theater or had to wait until it was released on DVD, blu-ray or on iTunes. And many French films are not readily available for rental outside of the province of Quebec or online so sometimes I don’t get to see some of these films until they air on television.
I’m hoping that if Cineplex decide to build a theater in my general area that it will include a smaller theater dedicated to foreign films.
