Pop Up Events & More

Record collectors should be aware that there will be two pop up events this weekend in Ontario.

The Burlington Pop Up Record Show will be hosted at the Halton Naval Veterans Hall from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, the 25th of June.

The nearest bus stops to the venue at 2444 Industrial Ave are bus stop #204 at Guelph at Mountainside and Bus Stop # 207 at Guelph at Davidson. And although admission is free with a donation to the venue, you should bring cash.

The other event will be held in Kanata, Ontario, where the member of the OG Vinyl Group on Facebook will buy, sell and swap vinyl at the Big Rig Brewery at 103 Schneider Road in the northern part of this western Ottawa suburb.

This free event will be occurring from 2pm to 5pm, also on Sunday the 25th of June, but there is a 200 person limit to the venue. And the nearest bus stops are #7409 and #7410, both on Schneider Road.

By the way, the 2023 Prime Day dates have been released and these will be July 11th and 12th, from 3am Eastern at Amazon.ca and Amazon.com. But you should note that deals already appear on the link provided.

Stratford Record Show

The only record convention occurring in Canada this weekend is the Stratford Record Show, at the Royal Canadian Legion at 804 Ontario St, in Stratford, Ontario.

It will happen on Saturday, the 3rd of June 2023, from 10am to 2pm, and admission will be $2 (which will be donated to the Legion). And I believe on demand transit services are available on that day from the city of Stratford (click here for details).

Record Conventions This Weekend

There will be four record convention this weekend, in Newfoundland, Ontario and British Columbia.

Starting East to West, the first convention will be on May 38th in St.John’s, Newfoundland from 8:30pm to 2:30pm at the St.John’s Farmers Market, at 245 Freshwater Road.

Admission for the St.John’s Record Fair with be $2 (or free for kids under 12) and the nearest bus stops are #2780 and #3080, facing the venue on Freshwater Road.

The next convention with occur on the same day in Peterborough, Ontario from 10am to 3pm at the StoneHouse Hall at 2195 Lansdowne Street.

Admission for the Peterborough-Kawartha Vinyl Record & Collectibles Show will be $4 and unfortunately there is no public transit in the area. The nearest bus stops are a 17 minute walk away at Dobbins and Landsdowne (Bus Stops #1302/#1600)

Another record convention will be occurring in Ontario on that day as well, this time in Bath at the MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Company at 1915 County 22 Road from 10am to 4pm.

Admission at this venue will be free and the venue is also hosting an “old fashioned BBQ”.

On the west coast, the Vancouver Vinyl Record Show will be hosted at the Heritage Hall at 3102 Main St. from 11am to 4pm.

Admission with be $5 and the nearest bus stops to the venue are Bus Stops #50241 and #59581.

Ontario Vinyl Pop-Up Shops

There will be two vinyl pop-up shows in Ontario this week, one in Hamilton on Wednesday, May 17th and the other in Cambridge on Saturday, two days later on Friday, the 19th of May 2023.

The first will be at the Grain & Grit Brewery, which is located at 11 Ewan Road, near Bus Stops #1352 and #2603.

The second will be at the Old Galt Bottle Shop at 135 George St N (Room #201), which is serviced by Bus Stop #2189.

Both events will be free admission and will be from 6pm to 9pm.

More May Record Conventions

The Vinyl Mania Collectors Expo will be hosted at the Coverdale Center at 50 Runneymeade Rd in Riverview, New Brunswick from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, May 13th 2023.

Admission with be $5 and cash is encouraged for purchases. The nearest bus stop # is T8515 but you might want to contact Codiac Transit to see if they operate in the area on Saturdays.

If you’re going to be in the St. Catharines, Ontario area on Sunday, the 14th of May 2023 you might want to pop into the Grantham Optimists Youth Centre at 188 Linwell Road from 10am to 4pm.

Admission will be $5 and although there appears to be a lot of free parking, you should note that there are bus stops, close by on Linwell Road, if you’d like to use Niagara Region Transit instead.

This Weekend’s Record Conventions

There are four record conventions this weekend, three in the province of Ontario and one on Vancouver island in British Columbia.

The first convention, the Chatham Record Convention will be on Saturday, the 6th of May from 10am to 3pm at Moose Lodge 1692 at 850 Richmond St.

The nearest bus stop, #5124, is at the corner of Richmond and the Land Registry. And admission will be $2, which we be forwarded to Outreach For Hunger.

The Hamilton Vinyl Pop Up Sale will occur at the Doors Pub:Taco Joint and Metal Bar at 56 Hess Street South from 1 to 7pm on Saturday.

The nearest Bus Stop, #1009, is at Main and Queen. And admission will be free.

The Barrie Vinyl Record & Collectibles Show is occurring at the Allandale Recreation Centre the next day, on Sunday May 7th, 2023 from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $4 and the nearest bus stops are #94 and #42, both near the corner of Little Ave and Bayview Drive.

The Victoria Record Fair will be occurring on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at the Fernwood Community Center, which is located at 1240 Gladstone Ave.

Admission will be $2 to $5 with free admission for kids. And the nearest bus stops are at Fernwood at Gladstone (#100240 / #100245).
