Last Chance To Get Deals At Blockbuster
Fifty three Blockbuster Canada stores will be closing on the 25th so they’re offloading their remianing merchandise at 70% off, excluding phones, which I believe may be 50% off.

Blockbuster Closing Sale
Blockbuster Canada stores have begun offloading their merchandise at 25% off today. This was advertised in emails to members and I only got notice of it this evening.
There were plenty of new and used DVDs and blu-rays at my local store to make it worth the trip though. You should probably consider popping in and seeing if there are any deals left at your local store.
Blockbuster Canada To Close All Stores
Grant Thornton LLP is seeking to close the remaining 253 Blockbuster stores in Canada according to a press release issued today.
Approximately 150 of the chain’s underperforming locations had been closed last June and the remaining locations were put up for sale. But no buyer stepped forward so the remaining stores will be closed.
There appeared to be several buyers in May according to a previous press release. But the New York court hearing in regards to the use of the Blockbuster trademark in Canada had been delayed earlier this month.
If the closure of the chain is approved, gift cards will not be honored.
Blockbuster Canada Closing 140 Stores
Blockbuster Canada will be closing 140 stores this month.
Liquidation sales will begin at the target locations on May 27th and the new owner of the chain is attempting to retain the Blockbuster trademark and software for the remaining 260 locations.
