Multiple Major Events This Weekend

There will be multiple day comicon and fan events this weekend, as well as two record conventions.

Howloween 2025 will begin on Thursday the 23rd, 2025 and end on the 26th at the Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport in Richmond, BC.

This venue is near the airport and serviced by Routes 401 and 407 on Translink, this venue having it’s own bus stop (56483).

The Winnipeg Comicon will run from on Friday, October 24th to Sunday, October 26th, 2025 at the RBC Convention Center and you can obtain ticket information by clicking here.

The venue is located in the core and therefore surrounded by multiple bus stops serviced by Winnipeg Transit, the closest being on Broadway Street (Stop Numbers 10593 and 10586).

Frightmare In The Falls will be a two day event, starting from Saturday, the 25th of October 2025, that will be hosted by the Niagara Falls Convention Center. And admission information can be found by clicking here.

This downtown venue is serviced by multiple routes via bus stop numbers 6152 and 8434 on Niagara Falls Transit.

The Simcoe Record & CD Show will be held on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 79 from 10am to 3pm and admission will be $2.

This venue is a five animate walk from the Simcoe Library Bus Stop, which is service by the Brampton route on Norfolk County Public Transit. Ask for stop S1a if you are using On Demand Transit, as it is at the venue itself.

The Toronto Downtown Record Show will again be occurring at the Tranzak Club, this time on Sunday, the 26th of October 2025 from noon to 4pm. And admission will be $7 or $20 for early entry at 10am.

This venue is a six minute walk away from Bathurst Station, where Streetcar Route 511 also terminates.

The London Record Show will be held at the lower level of Centennial Hall on Sunday, October 26th, 2025 from 11am to 5pm and admission will be $5.

This centrally coated venue has multiple bus stops on London Transit, the closest being at London City Hall, which is serviced by Route 1.

Two Comicons This Weekend

The first is a two day event, the London Comic Con, which will be held on the 13th and 14th of September, 2025 at RBC London Place.

The second is a one day event, The Belleville Comicon, at the Quinton Curling Club on Saturday, the 13th of September 2025.

Admission is $5 or free for kids 12 and under. And multiple routes on Belleville Transit converge at the corner of Sidney Street and Bridge Street West, which is a three minute walk east from the venue.

This Weekend’s Events

The Yorkgate Mall Comicon has already begun in North York and will end on the 14th of March 2025, from 11am to 5pm every day.

Admission is free and the venue is serviced by multiple TTC bus routes from Finch West Station.

The Toronto Comicon will occur from the 14th to the 16th of March, 2025 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Admission information can be found by clicking here. And the venue is accessible from Union Station, a major transport hub serviced by the TTC, Go Train, Union Pearson Express and VIA Rail Canada.

The Calgary Comic Book Show will happen on Saturday, the 15th of March, 2005 at the Millican Ogden Community Association from 10am to 4pm.

Admission will be free and the venue is serviced by multiple bus routes on Calgary Transit via Bus Stop Numbers 5857 and 8202.

The Owen Sound Comicon will be hosted by the Owen Sound Legion on Saturday, the 15th of March, 2005 from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $5 or free for kids 12 and under. The venue is serviced by the Brooke and Core bus routes on Owen Sound Public Transit, with stops next to the venue. This community’s bus terminal is also serviced by Flixbus and Grey County Transit.

The London Record Show will again be held at the Centennial Hall, in the lower level, from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, the 16th of March, 2025.

Admission will be $5 and multiple bus stops and routes service this venue via London Transit, which recommends their Real Time App or Google Maps for additional information.

Remember, cash may be preferred at these events so you may want to look for ATMs near these venues. And note that you may want to bring a mask and hand sanitizer because of the flu and other nasty viruses going around.

One Record Show This Weekend & More

The London Record Show will be held at Centennial Hall in London, Ontario this Sunday, the 27th of October, 2024, from 11am to 5pm.

Admission will be $5. And the nearest bus stop, #1463, is a six minute walks away across Victoria Park and is serviced by multiple routes by London Transit.

Please note that an Intercity service is available for Southwest Ontario from Southwest Community Transit and that the venue is only a 15 minute walk away north from the Via Rail station, which is also serviced by Onexbus and Ourbus.

The weekend-long Winnipeg Comic-Con will occur from Friday, the 25th to Sunday, the 27th of October, 2024 at the RBC Convention Centre and admission will vary (click here for details).

This downtown venue is surrounded by multiple stops and serviced by multiple routes on Winnipeg Transit. And it is a 17 minute walk or bus ride from Union Station.

A two day cosplay, D&D and art event called Penti-Con will occur at the Pentincton Trade and Convention Centre in Pentincton, BC. And click here for this event’s admission prices.

This venue is central and serviced by multiple routes on South Okanagan Similkameen Regional Transit.

The first one day comicon event of the weekend will be the Batawa Comicon, which will be held at the Batawa Community Center on Saturday, the 26th of October from 10am to 3pm.

Admission to this event will be $5 of free for kids 12 and under. And on demand transit services may be available to the venue from Quinte Transit, specifically on the Trenton-Frankford Route, by calling 1-855-283-9640.

The Georgian-Bay Fancon will also be occurring this Saturday, from 10am to 4pm at the Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre.

Admission will be $10 for Adults and youths aged over 13, $5 for kids aged 6 to 12 and free admission for Kids under 6. And the nearest bus stop in a one minute walk away at the Rexall Drugstore, which is serviced by Routes 3 and 4 on a On Demand service provided by Grey Transit Route.

The Bowmanvile Comicon will be held on Sunday, the 27th of October, at Garnet B Rickard Recreation Complex from 10am to 3pm. And admission will be $5 or free for kids 12 and under.

This venue is serviced by Route 88 on Go Transit from bus stop numbers 100520 and 100716. And it also serviced by Routes 502 and 902 on Durham Region Transit from bus stop numbers 93733 and 93734.

And finally, the last event of this weekend will be the Capital Comic Book Convention, which will also be held this Sunday, from 11am to 4pm at the RA Centre in Ottawa.

Admission will be $8 for adults and youths over 13 or free for kids aged 6 to 12. But an early VIP access is available online for 10am entry for $13 by clicking here. And the nearest bus stops to the venue, stop numbers 1152 and 1567, are a six minute walk away and serviced by multiple routes on OC Transpo.

I happen to run into this title whilst browsing Youtube. It’s about a real life chance encounter by a orange tabby named Bob and a London street musician, who was a recovering heroin addict when the two met.

This 2012 U.K bestseller has just recently been released on paperback and as an iBook.

Indie Labels Hit By London Riots

A major distribution center operated by Sony has been destroyed in London, England.

The three story building, in which CDs and DVDs from indie labels XL Recordings, 4AD, Beggars, Pias, Domino and Rough Trade were stored, was burned down according to Billboard.

Pias is a major independent music distributor, representing 150 labels. They also distribute DVDs and games.
