No major events this weekend, but…
Unfortunately it looks like nothing is happening this weekend when it comes to record conventions or Comic conventions. But at least we now know all four hobbits will be at the Ottawa Comicon in September, along with Monty Python‘s own John Cleese and Mr. T-1000 himself, Robert Patrick.
Shawn Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan and Elijah Wood will host “An Evening in the Shire with the Four Hobbits” on September 7th, 2024 at 8pm at the EY Center, which is of course located next to the Ottawa/Macdonald–Cartier International Airport and serviced by three major bus routes, Route 97, Route 99 and Route 197.
The two nearest hotels to this venue are also at the airport, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Fairmount Inn & Suites Ottawa Airport, which are a 12 minute walk away from the venue. But three additional hotels can be found a short, four minute drive up Uplands Drive, the Holiday Day Inn Express & Suites, Hampton Inn by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton, which are serviced by Route 197.
You should note that Route 197 is a bit of a milk route but it brings people to the venue’s doors within 33 minutes and is safer that walking down the stretch of Uplands Drive in-between the venue and the hotels, which has no sidewalk and very little lighting.
Safety first!

LOTR on Blu-Ray Tomorrow
| The Lord Of The Rings trilogy will be released tomorrow on Blu-Ray, though I should mention that these are the theatrical releases and not the Special Extended Editions Amazon.com The first installment of The Hobbit films is scheduled for release in 2011 according to IMDB.com and they could easily use the release of the extended version on Blu-Ray to build up a summer release of the first Hobbit film. |
|
| But of course this is speculation on my part and the press release scheduled for release tomorrow might shine some better light on the subject.
Having not upgraded to Blu-Ray yet i’m not in a rush to get the Blu-Ray release of the extended versions. And I am quite content in watching the special edition DVDs upconverted until it is released. |
