This Weekend’s Events

There will unfortunately be no record conventions this weekend. But music, television and film memorabilia collectors should note that there are three ComiCons this weekend, in Angus and Collingwood, Ontario and Ponoka, Alberta:

The first event this weekend will be the Central Alberta Fanfest at the Ponoka Jubilee Library on Saturday, the 17th of August, 2024, from 10am to 4pm.

This event is free but there is no public transit to this venue.

The Collingwood ComiCon will also be held this Saturday, but at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $5 and free for kids 12 and under. And the nearest bus stops to the venue are numbers 234 (on Crosstown Route) and 420 (on East Route), which are serviced by Collingwood Public Transit.

And finally, the Angus ComiCon will be hosted from 10am to 3pm by the Angus Recreation Center on Sunday, the 18th of August.

Admission is $5 and free for kids 12 and under. And unfortunately this venue is not yet serviced by public transit.

This Weekends Events

There will be a pop up vinyl event in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday and a Comicon event in Orillia, Ontario on Sunday:

The Kitchener Vinyl Market will be held at the Rabbid Fox Tavern from 11AM to 4PM on the 20th of July, 2024 and admission will be a donation to Strong Start Waterloo.

The nearest bus stops to this venue are bus stops 2052 and 2053, which are serviced by Grand River Transit, whose site does have a travel planner.

The Cottage CountryCon 2024 on the 21st of July, 2024 at the Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre from 10am to 5pm.

Admission information to this event can be found by clicking here. And in regards to public transit, the nearest bus stops to the venue are serviced by the Georgian route on Orillia Transit.

Please note that cash may be preferable at these events so you may want to find out where the nearest ATMs are to these venues. Ottawa Memorabilia Events & More

There will be two memorabilia collector events in Ottawa this Sunday and several others in Milton, Ontario and Grande Prairie, Alberta, that latter occurring over three days from Friday the 12th of July, 2024.

The first event of this weekend will of course be Grandecon at the Bonnets Energy Center, open from 2pm to 8pm on Friday, 10am to 7pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday, with various ticket prices that are listed here.

The venue has its own bus stop and is serviced by Route 01 and Route 03 on Grand Prairie Transit.

The next event, Milton Comicon, will be on Saturday, the 13th of July 2024 at the Milton Sports Centre Banquet Room from 10am to 3pm and admission will be $5 or free for kids 12 and under.

Multiple bus routes on Milton Transit service this venue, including Route 2 (at bus stop 2040) and Routes 7 and 8 (at bus stops 2176 and 2195).

The fifth annual Fanaticcon Ottawa will occur at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre on the 14th, from 10am to 5pm.

General admission to this event is $20 cash at the door or free for kids 12 and under. But VIP Admission appears to be still available at $22.63. And this venue is a ten minute walk from the Tremblay O-Train station over the Max Keeping Pedestrian Bridge. Or you can also choose to take the bus to stop numbers 7080 and 7081, which is serviced by Route 9 from the Hurdman O-Train station. Consult OC Transpo for additional information.

The other Ottawa memorabilia collector event will be the Capital Trade Show at the Nepean Sportsplex from 10am to 3pm, also on Sunday, and this event is free.

This venue is serviced by multiple bus routes operated by OC Transpo, including Route 75 which links to Route 88 at the Baseline Station, the later terminating at Hurdman Station, where Route 9 can be taken to the venue hosting the other, previously mentioned event. The travel planner on OC Transpo calculates that it takes an hour and a half to travel in-between the two venues.

This Weekend’s Events

There will be multiple comicon events and one record convention this weekend:

The Northern FanCon in Prince George, BC will occur from May 3rd to May 5th, 2024 at the CN Center.

The Saskatoon Entertainment Expo will be hosted on both May 4th and May 5th, 2024 at Prairieland Park.

The Barrie Comicon will be held at the Barrie Curling Club on May 4th, 2024 from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $5 or free for kids 12 and under. And the nearest bus stop to the venue is 289, which is serviced by routes 1A and 8A on Barrie Transit.

The Barrie Vinyl Record & Collectibles Show will also occur in Barrie, ON but on the following day (May 5th, 2024) at the nearby Allandale Recreation Centre from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $5 and the venue is serviced by routes 1A and 1B on Barrie Transit.

The Caledon Comicon will happen on May 5th, 2024 at the Caledon East Community Complex from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $25.07 for VIP, $7.12 for General Admission and Free for kids under 12.

And last but not least, the Capital Trade Sports Card & Comic Book Show will also be held on May 5th, 2024 from 10am to 3pm but at the Nepean Sportsplex.

Admission and parking is free. And the venue is of course serviced by multiple routes on OC Transpo.

This Weekend’s Events

There will be several events this weekend in Ontario, one of which will be a record convention:

Starting on Friday the 22nd of March (2024) there will be a miniature wargame convention named Hotlead at the Best Western Plus The Harden Park Hotel in Stratford, right through to Sunday the 24th.

Admission and hours vary so please consult the official event site for additional details. I believe the nearest bus stop number to the venue is 1273 and it is serviced by Route 2 on Fridays but you should consult the City of Stratford Transit site for additional information.

The Peterborough Comicon will occur on the 23rd at The Venue from 10am to 3pm and will feature memorabilia from music, television and film.

Admission will be $5 for Adults and free for children under 12. And the nearest bus stops to the event are 1495 (George/King) and 1537 (Water/King). Additional transit information can be obtained from Peterborough Transit.

Bothe the Mississauga Video Game Show and Mississauga Toy Expo will be held at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale on Sunday, the 24th of March (2024) from 10am to 4pm.

The Guelph Record Show will be hosted at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Guelph, Ontario on Sunday, the 24th of March (2024) from 10:30am to 4pm with a special admission of $20 for earlier entry at 9am ; General admission is $5.

The nearest bus stop to the venue is 419 and is is serviced by Route 4 by the City of Guelph Transit.

This Weekend’s Events & More

There will be three record shows this weekend, two in Ontario and one in British Columbia, and two memorabilia collector’s conventions in Alberta and Ontario, also on Sunday the 17th of March, 2024:

The London Record Show will occur from 11am to 4pm at Centennial Hall and admission will be $5.

The nearest bus stops are a five minute walk away at the corner of Dufferin and Waterloo, which is serviced by Route 1. Consult London Transit for further details.

The Newmarket Record Show will be hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion from 10am to 3pm and admission will be $5.

The nearest bus stops are on the same street as the venue and a seven minute walk away at the corners of Crusader Way and Ordinary Drive. A trip planner and additional details can be found on the York Region Transit web site.

The Vancouver Flea Market will have a record show from 10am to 3pm and admission will also be $5.

The nearest bus stops to the venue are 51277 and 51353, which is service by route 022. Additional information on local transit to the area can be found on Translink.

Edmonton Collector Con will be at the Italian Cultural Center from 10am to 4pm and although general admission is $7 kids under 12 get in for free.

The nearest bus stops are 6152 and 6488, behind the venue on St.Albert Trail. And a trip planner is available at the city’s official transit site.

The Ottawa Nostalgia and Collectibles Show will be at the Nepean Sportsplex (Halls A and B/Entrance 3) from 9am to 3pm and general admission will be $7 until 2pm, the last hour being free. Children under 12 will be admitted free from 9am to 3pm.

This venue is located on a major transit route, the Transitway, and is regularly serviced by multiple bus routes at stops number 1652 and 1683 by OC Transpo. A trip planner is available on the official site.
