New Apple Gift Cards
Apple decided to create a more universal gift card, which is accepted for most of their products and services. And these are currently available from Apple stores, several retailers and online from Apple.ca and Amazon.ca.
Consequently they will probably be phasing out the usual iTunes, Music and App gift cards.
Bonus Optimum Points
If you are expecting to make an Apple App Store/iTunes, Sony Playstation store or Google Play purchase or planning on buying a gift card for those retailers, you should note that a bonus offer is available to PC Optimum members at select Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores.
An offer for 15,000 bonus points is available for every combined purchase of $100 of the above listed gift cards until February 3rd, 2021 and this offer appeared both on my respective flyers on my local store web sites so i’d recommend you look for this offer as well, which is a $15 value in Optimum points.
Gift Card Offers
Select Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers Drug Mart stores are offering 10% discounts on Google Play gift cards, whilst select Sobeys stores are offer 15% discounts on $50 and $100 App Store and iTunes gift cards.
The Real Canadian Superstore and Sobeys offers will end on December 19th, 2018. But the Shoppers Drug Mart offer will end on the 21st of December, 2018.
Some Uniprix stores are also offering $3 discounts on $50 App Store & iTunes gift cards until the 19th as well.

Discounted Gift Cards : Google Play
Participating Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstore stores are offering 10% discounts on $25 and $50 Google Play gift cards until October 27th, 2016. No coupon required. Consult your local flyer for additional details.
Warning – Gift Card Scam
The Canada Revenue Agency does not accept or solicit iTunes gift cards as payment.
Apparently the scammers now ask for payments using iTunes gift cards, that they resell online using legitimate services.
If you receive a call instructing you to pay back taxes in gift cards, bitcoin, prepaid credit cards or prepaid debit cards, hang up and call 1-888-495-8501 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday to Friday.
