Multiple Major Events This Weekend

There are lots of record conventions and comicons, from coast to coast:

The Sudbury Music & Collectables Show will be held on Saturday, the 24th of May, 2025 from 10am to 3pm at the Northbury Hotel.

Admission will be $5 or $10 for early admission at 9am. The venue is a 12 minute walk from the Via Rail station, which is serviced by multiple routes on Greater Sudbury Transit. Note that a pedestrian tunnel near these bus stops facilitate access to Riverside Drive and the venue.

The Capital Comic Book Convention will be also be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 but from 11am to 4pm at the RA Center in Ottawa.

And the nearest bus stops from the venue, bus stop numbers 1152 and 1567, is a 6 minute walk away and serviced by a multiple of routes on OC Transpo because these stops are next to Billings Bridge Transitway Station.

The Trenton Comicon will be held on Saturday, the 24th of May at the Trenton Curling Club from 10am to 3pm and admission will be $5 or free for kids 12 and under.

This venue has its own bus stop, 107, and is service by Route B on Quinte Transit, which also provides Rides on Demand.

The spring version of Record Fair NL will be held at the St.John’s Farmers Market from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, the 25th of May, 2025.

Admission will be $2 per person or free for kids 12 and under. And Bus Stops next to the venue, 2780 and 3080, are serviced by Routes 10 and 12 on Metrobus

The Boogie Record Fair & Market hosted by Boogie on Queen in Toronto will also be held on Sunday, the 25th of May, 2025 but from 1pm to 5pm. And it will be a free event.

This venue is serviced by streetcar routes 301 and 501 on the TTC via stop numbers 6838 and 15348.

The MacKinnon Brothers Vinyl Record Market will also be a free event on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, which will be held at the MacKinnon Brothers Brewery from 1pm to 4pm.

This venue I unfortunately isolated in a rural area that does not have public transit.

The North Bay Record Show will be held on Sunday, the 25th, of May 2025 at the Elk’s Lodge from 10am to 3pm and admission will be $5 or $10 for early entry at 9am.

The venue had its own bus stops, which is serviced by Routes 3, 5 and 7 on North Bay Transit. And the North Bay Train Station and Bus Terminal is a five minute walk from the venue.

The Vancouver Vinyl Record Show will also be held on Sunday, the 25th of May, 2025 from 11am to 4pm at the Heritage Hall. And admission will be $5, cash.

This venue is serviced by Route 003 on Translink via stop numbers 50241 and 59581.

Lots of Major Record Conventions

There will be several major record conventions this weekend in Montreal, Toronto, Bowmanville, Brantford and Calgary, as well as comic book conventions in Calgary, Sudbury, Chatham and Cornwall.

The first record convention, the Montreal Plateau Record Show, will be held on Saturday, the 26th of April, 2025, from 10am to 4pm at the Église Saint Denis.

Admission is $5 or $15 for early entry at 9pm. And the entrance of the venue is at 5075 Rivard Street, near the north entrance of the Laurier Metro Station (on the Orange Line).

The next four record conventions will be held on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, the first being the Toronto Downtown Record Show at The Tranzac from noon to 4pm.

Admission will be $7 or $12 for early entry at 10am. And the venue is a six minute walk away from either the Bathurst or Spadina Metro Stations. It’s in-between the two TTC stations.

The next record convention this Sunday will be the Bowmanville CD and Record Show, which will be hosted by the Memorial Park Clubhouse from 10am to 4pm.

This is a free event and the venue is a nine minute walk from the nearest bus stop, #1499, which is serviced by Route 902 on Durham Regional Transit.

The Brantford Record Show will also be held on Sunday, this time at the Dunsdon Legion, from 10am to 3pm. And admission will be a $2 donation to the legion.

The nearest bus stops to the venue are 450 and 483, which is serviced by Routes 4A and 4C on Brantford Transit.

And last but not least, the Calgary Record Collectors Show will be held on Sunday at the Acadia Recreation Complex from 11am to 4pm.

Admission to this event is $5 or $10 for early entry at 9:30am. And the nearest bus stops to the venue, 6414 and 6447, are serviced by Route 99 on Calgary Transit.

The Calgary Expo will also be held this weekend, from the 24th to the 27th at Stampede Park.

The Sudbury Comicon will be held for one day, on Saturday the 26th of April, 2025, at the George Armstrong Community Centre and Arena from 10am to 3pm, and admission will be $5 or free for kids 12 and under.

This venue is serviced by Route 102 on GOVA and the nearest bus stops to the venue are unfortunately not numbered ; The southbound stop is the closest to the venue, followed by the northbound stop.

Chatham Kent Expo will be a two day event at John D. Bradley Convention Centre on the 26th and 27th of April, 2025.

And finally, the Cornwall Pop Event (a.k.a CAPE) will be held at the Benson Center, also on north the 26th and 27th of April.

Four Record Conventions and More

There will be record conventions in Fort Erie, Guelph, North Bay and Sudbury, as well as a comic convention in Cobourg.

The Fort Erie Record Show will be held on Saturday, the 28th of September, 2024 at the Sessions On The River live venue and recording studio from 10am to 3pm.

Admission will be $3 or free for kids 12 and under. And on demand transit is available from Niagara Transit.

The North Bay Record Show will also be held this Saturday from 10am to 3pm but at the North Bay Elk’s Lodge No 25, with early entry for $10 at 9am.

Regular admission will be $5 and the venue is serviced by Route 5 on North Bay Transit.

The final event for Saturday will be the Cobourg Comicon, which will be from 10am to 3pm at the Cobourg Community Center.

Admission will be $5 or free for children 12 and under. And on demand transit services are available from Cobourg Transit.

The Guelph Record Show will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 234 on Sunday, September 29th, 2024 from 10:30 to 4pm and admission will be $5.

This venue is serviced by Route 4 on Guelph Transit and is listed as bus stop 5811.

The Sudbury Music & Collectible Show will again be held at the Northbury Hotel and Conference Centre from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, the 29th of September 2024.

Admission will be $5 or $10 for early entry at 9am to 10am. And the venue is serviced by multiple routes on Sudbury Transit and is a ten minute walk away from the Via Rail Station.

This Weekend’s Events

There will be three events this Sunday, the March 10 (2024), a record show in Sarnia, Ontario, a vinyl record gathering in Sudbury, Ontario and a sports and collectibles show in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Sarnia Record Show will be held at the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 at 286 North Front Street from 10am to 3pm.

Admission if a $2 donation to the Legion and the venue is a four minute walk away from the Bayside Terminal. Contact Sarnia Transit for further information.

A Vinyl Record Gathering in Sudbury, Ontario is scheduled from 10am to 5pm this Sunday at the St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church at 515 Antwerp Ave.

Admission will be free and the nearest bus stops are located a four minute walk away at the corner of Jean St. and Burton ave. I believe these stops are serviced by Route 11 but please contact Sudbury Transit for details.

The Bossa Sports Card & Collectibles Show will be hosted by the Bonsor Recreation Centre at 6550 Bonsor Avenue from 10am to 3pm in Burnaby, British Columbia.

This event will feature collectibles from music, television, film and sports and admission will be $10. The nearest bus stops pretty much at the venue itself, 52501 and 52600. Additional details can be obtained from TransLink.ca.
