Record Shows & More
October is getting to be pretty busy when it comes to record conventions and fairs. And there will be two events in Western Ontario this weekend.
The first will be the Hamilton Record Show on Saturday, the 7th of October 2023, which will be hosted at Bridgeworks, a venue located at 200 Catherine St. North.
Admission will be $5 and the show will be from 10am to 3pm. And the nearest bus stops are the the corner of Cannon and Hess, which is south of the venue, and Bay and Barton, which is east of the venue. Consult the City of Hamilton Transit site for additional details.

Vinyl records and music memorabilia will also be available on Sunday, the 8th of October 2023 at the London Collectibles Expo at Centennial Hall, which is located at 550 Wellington Street.
This event will occur from 9:30am to 2:30pm and admission will be $5 (or free for children under 12 when accompanied by an adult). And the nearest bus stops (532,535 and 1936) are located next to London City Hall, which is a three minute walk away from the venue. Consult London Transit for further information.

You should also note that although Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days is on October 10th and 11th deals are already being made available on the Canadian site, including deals on Amazon Basic audio accessories, musical instrument accessories and on Amazon Music Unlimited, the latter including 4 free months.
Enjoy.
Au Revoir Mickey?
Disney may be closing all of their stores in Canada by the end of the summer in response to the pandemic and a shift in retail according to Retail Insider.
They had recently closed 60 stores, two of which were in Canada. And now they may close 18 of the remaining locations in this country, which are located in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba. But I suspect they may open a Canadian fulfillment centre or two for Canadian orders at their shopdisney.com site.
Perhaps we will eventually be able to order memorabilia from the Disney+ app itself in the future. But hopefully they might consider re-opening larger locations in the tourist hotspots in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
Only time will tell.
FYE Expands Into Canada
Entertainment retailer FYE has just opened a store in the Rideau Centre in Downtown Ottawa.
They offer film and music on various formats, as well as memorabilia from film, television and music. But it should be noted that FYE’s current American web site does not yet ship to Canada.
This American retailer had been purchased from Trans World Entertainment by Sunrise Records in February 2020 for 10 million dollars according to Billboard.
Major Memorabilia Sale
American collectibles retailer Entertainment Earth is offloading quite a lot of music, film and television memorabilia, some up to 95% off. Click on the banner for details.
Special Offers This Weekend
Chapters.indigo.ca is offering a 15% discount on film/music associated toys and select children’s music instruments this weekend. Use promo code PROMO15 until June 28th, 2015 to obtain this discount.
This store is also offering discounts up to 50% on books and electronics until July 12th, 2015. And electronics can also be found on sale this weekend at Tiger Direct Canada.
More Memorabilia
Amazon.ca had just activated the beta version of their Toys and Games Store
, which features Action and Toy Figurines
, Die Cast Vehicles
, Games
, and various other memorabilia from from music, film, television and internet.
Their selection is limited compared to their American Store but I suspect they will expand quite significantly in or by October or November.
